Boothmanship

I have been talking to some friends about the show and a friend in the "specify and recommend" part of one of the larger telcos made this observation...

One note about the vendor booths - the majority of the time, I had to approach someone in the booth to talk with them. Several times, I stood looking around the booth, but no one from the company approached me to ask about my interest. They just stood off and talked to themselves. That is not a good situation, nor does it give a favorable impression of the company. Interesting is the fact that the smaller vendors were more eager to engage me than the larger ones.

Our own Glenn Gaudet teaches at our shows and runs a marketing summit. I personally recommend it.

PULVERMEDIA TO UNVEIL THE NEXT INSTALLMENT OF THE "PULVER 100" AT SPRING 2007 VON, SAN JOSE

Beverly, Massachusetts - August 1, 2006: pulvermedia™ today announced that it will host the next installment of the pulver 100 at Spring 2007 VON in San Jose. The pulver 100 is the IP communication industry's premier listing of growth companies that represent the future of IP communications.

Over the last five years, the pulver 100 has grown into one of the industry’s most anticipated award listings – providing a valuable indicator for the leading edge in IP communications. As a result, pulvermedia is dedicating new, extensive resources to evaluating the selection criteria, and identifying the next round of companies for the list. Consistent with past listings, a formal submission process will be available to all interested parties. Further details will be made available in the months ahead.

About the pulver 100:

Originally introduced in 2002, the pulver 100 features companies in the communications sector that have substantial real-world deployments and enjoy significant growth rates. The value chain characterized by the pulver 100 differs from the vertically integrated telecom model of the last century, focusing more on a networking-industry model that espouses open interfaces, connectivity decoupled from services, and software decoupled from hardware.

Ode To Jason (to be sung to Que Sera, Sera

When I came here
I asked my car pool what would I see?
Would I be napping while the Offsite went on?

Here's what they said to me...

Que Sera, Sera
Quandrant 2 is your destiny!
Your Job is in jeopardy,
Que Sera, Sera
what will be, will be.

Now that I've been her
I understand the term, harmony
SNIOP, and Close; HIT and Doctor,
Its very clear to me...

Que Sera, Sera
Quandrant 2 is your destiny
In 90 days you'll hear from me.
Que Sera, Sera
what will be, will be.

Kristin O'Mahony

Kristin was getting her Master's degree in Education when she came to pulver and is leaving to persue it. For the most of the VON community she will be little more than an email address.

For us in the Content and Community team she will be missed.

The One Man Show Dilemma - Jeff Pulver

Often Jeff gets a request from people for speaking slots. Normally all Industry Perspectives are from his discussions almost a year in advance. Keynotes are a result of sponsorship packages. People looking for me to help are not aware how long this process takes.

But the Session carved out because of a conversation with Jeff is the scariest part for the speaker team. Often these people will talk with Jeff and assume that's all they have to talk to.

So we send them E-mails looking for names and confirmations and they ignore the E-mail for getting the names and people on the website. That leaves us scrambling for information and lots of people wake up to the fact that we have since cancelled the session for lack of information months before the conference.

If you get a commitment from Jeff make sure to follow through with Diana Falcon diana@pulver.com .

New Kid on the Block - Kristin O'Mahony

Kristin has been working for us for over 6 months, but komahony@pulver.com is not as recognized an email as we need it to be.

As a new E-mail address from pulver.com many of our speakers often think that her emails are part of our relentless marketing effort.

The result is that she is often frustrated by the lack of response to her E-mail. So we have resorted to her using my name in vain.

Please, if you get an E-mail from this woman, know that she means business and get back to her.
