Alltel for Sale
I read the story about Alltel being in the market in the Alltel. The sale is currently projected to be $22B which I dont happen to have. But Why the usual suspects? I doubt Vonage can be the minnow that swallows a whale.
So many other choices seem to me to be better than the roll ups.
Wouldn't Qwest, Comcast or other cable companies be better choices?
What about the Yahoo! and Googles of the world? How about Sinclair?
Would an infusion from an investor be a better choice? How about Skype or MediaFlo?
Cousin Scott. call me anytime. I will be happy to help.

An acquisition by Google, Yahoo, or even a CableCO would certainly be interesting, since it will catapult Google as a Mobile Operator.
This can trigger a "kindler, gentler, 1000 points of lights" Mobile Operator with innovative revenue and business model and open the flood gates where two kids and a dog in garage can create a killer app with viral distribution and consumer appeal.
Already Japan and China, have proven that can generate more corporate value by opening their networks.
I cheering for a Google or Yahoo move.... so when the TelCOs build their robust, inpegnetrable 3G IMS four wall gardens, their customer should be very safe outside. :-)
